On April 24, 2015, Veronica Park, an inmate at Nova Institution for Women, died at a local hospital in Truro, Nova Scotia.
At the time of her death, Ms. Park, 38 years old, had been serving a sentence of 2 years, 10 months and 28 days, since May 28, 2014 for Robbery and Breach of a recognizance to keep the peace.
The inmate’s next of kin have been notified of her death.
As in all cases involving the death of an inmate, the police and the coroner have been notified, and the Correctional Service of Canada will review the circumstances of the incident.
