Rocher-Percé RCM receives funding to take charge of the region’s economic development and recovery through actions that will ensure a strong and forward-looking economy for businesses and the community

April 8, 2015 – Port-Daniel, Quebec - Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions (CED)

The Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Infrastructure, Communities and Intergovernmental Affairs and Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, announces that the Regional County Municipality (RCM) of Rocher-Percé has been granted funding to leverage the economic benefits generated by a major project in the Municipality of Port-Daniel–Gascons.

This support has been awarded in the form of a $592,395 non-repayable financial contribution through CED’s Quebec Economic Development Program.

Quick facts

The funds enabled the Rocher-Percé RCM to hire a coordinator to help the region’s enterprises harness business opportunities, to produce an inventory of local service companies and to attract other businesses interested in eventually establishing operations in the area in view of a major investment project coming to the RCM.
The RCM will also have the possibility of commissioning expert research, such as feasibility and opportunity studies.
This will help re-launch the economy on new footing and improve the region’s socio-economic profile through, among other things, the creation of direct and indirect jobs.
