Paradise and Conception Bay South enhancing local facilities to benefit residents and local businesses
The growing communities of Paradise and Conception Bay South (CBS) are proceeding with plans to upgrade their community infrastructure to better meet the needs of residents and local businesses. Thanks in part to support from the Government of Canada, through ACOA, each community will soon be able to operate their arenas as year-round multipurpose facilities and open their doors to hosting a wider range of events.
The Honourable Rob Moore, Regional Minister for Newfoundland and Labrador and Minister of State (ACOA), today announced almost $415,000 to support the community infrastructure projects in the Towns of Paradise and Conception Bay South. The projects include the purchase of professional ice covering, audio/visual components and conference-related equipment, which will enable the communities to host activities such as community events, sporting events and business functions.
The Town of Paradise has experienced significant growth in residential and commercial development in the past decade and improvements to its community infrastructure are expected to benefit residents and the business community. Within the Town of CBS, a year-round multipurpose facility will help enhance the Town’s ability to respond to the needs of the business community and provide amenities that are not currently available.
