Government of Canada supports Stratford Summer Music

April 30, 2015 – Stratford, Ontario – Department of Canadian Heritage

The Government of Canada is providing $40,000 in funding through the Canada Arts Presentation Fund for the 15^th anniversary season of Stratford Summer Music. The six-week series is presented by the Stratford Arts Foundation and will take place between July 20 and August 30, 2015.

Gary Schellenberger, Member of Parliament (Perth–Wellington), made the announcement today on behalf of the Honourable Shelly Glover, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages.

Stratford Summer Music features Canadian and international artists in a range of performances that includes a youth orchestras, choral programming, a classical piano series, a jazz orchestra, opera and country music at various indoor and outdoor venues in Stratford.
This anniversary edition will present more than 100 concerts and events, including the return of favourite artists such as Canadian tenor Ben Heppner and a special tribute to Canadian composer R. Murray Schafer.
Stratford Summer Music will also feature free family-friendly interactive installations, like the Play Me, I’m Yours painted pianos and unique percussion instruments on Tom Percussion Island.
