April 16, 2015 La Mauricie National Park, Quebec Parks Canada
Winter is hardly over and the Parks Canada team at La Mauricie National Park is already working to prepare the summer season. With more than 1652 registered visitors this winter – an increase of 8.2 percent - La Mauricie National Park has confirmed its reputation as a cross-country skiing paradise. The winter season was a great success, and the summer promises to be just as successful.
This summer’s greatest new feature is definitely the ability to reserve your canoe-camping trips online. As of April 13, 2015, the reservation system is available for all camping activities.
Camping enthusiasts will also be able to enjoy our new oTENTiks, as well as more sites with electricity. In addition, original programming including more than 20 different visitor activities will be offered throughout the summer by the park’s naturalists.
The Parkway has been rejuvenated with the trimming of vegetation in certain areas. Many viewpoints now let you fully enjoy the beauty of the landscape, as do our new red chairs that are set-up at some of the most spectacular lookouts.

"Our Government is pleased that visitors are connecting with La Mauricie National Park to enjoy the incredible natural beauty of this area. With new winter activities, such as snow tags, ice-climbing and fat biking in addition to the year-round oTENTik camping, La Mauricie is recognized as a natural playground par excellence! I know that new features for summer 2015, particularly the ability to reserve canoe trips online and the many summer activities being prepared, will be met with great enthusiasm among nature lovers."
