OTTAWA, April 21, 2015 - Today, the Honourable Steven Blaney, Canada’s Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness, made this statement following several arrests and the laying of charges against 15 individuals, ranging from drug and firearm trafficking to conspiracy to import cocaine into Canada. The RCMP worked closely with numerous national and international law enforcement agencies to conclude this two-year international drug trafficking investigation.
“I applaud the diligent work and collaboration by members of these domestic and international law enforcement agencies. These arrests are an important step towards discouraging international drug trafficking and protecting Canadians from criminal activities. I proudly support our law enforcement agencies who work tirelessly to keep our streets and communities safe.”
