OTTAWA – Media are invited to attend the launch of the National Sentry Program for the 2015 season. The Canadian Armed Forces will perform sentry duty from April 9 to November 10, 2015 at the National War Memorial, as part of Canada’s commitment to remember and honour Canadians who served in both World Wars, as well as those who have contributed to Canada’s long-standing tradition of military excellence through to the present day.
The rotation of sentries from the Royal Canadian Navy, the Canadian Army and the Royal Canadian Air Force reinforces public awareness that the Tomb of the Unknown Solder is to be treated with dignity and respect.
When: April 9, 2015 at 9 a.m.
Where: National War Memorial, corner of Wellington Street and Elgin Street
