Prime Minister Stephen Harper today announced support for several new initiatives that will promote health, security, democratic governance and border management in the Americas. He made the announcement on the final day of the seventh Summit of the Americas. He was joined by Rob Nicholson, Minister of Foreign Affairs.
The initiatives being announced today will benefit the region by contributing to maternal, newborn and child health, promoting judicial reform, improving the security and education of children, fighting money laundering as well as drug and human trafficking, enhancing the rule of law and border management, and increasing the capacity of beneficiary states to address criminal threats.
