Prime Minister Stephen Harper today announced that he will travel to the Netherlands to join an official Canadian delegation to mark the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of the Netherlands.
Canadian veterans of the Liberation of the Netherlands, Canadian Armed Forces personnel, Erin O’Toole, Minister of Veterans Affairs, General Thomas Lawson, Chief of the Defence Staff, Major-General (Ret’d) Richard Rohmer, Special Advisor to the Minister of Veterans Affairs on the Liberation of the Netherlands, and close to 1,000 Canadian students and cadets will be participating in the events in the Netherlands in early May.
During the visit, the Prime Minister will partake in a number of commemorative events to mark the National Liberation Day of the Netherlands.
