Prime Minister Stephen Harper today welcomed the 9th report of his Advisory Committee on the Public Service. The Advisory Committee is made up of a group of recognized leaders with a broad range of experience in government, business and academia providing expert external advice to help the Public Service serve the Government and Canadians into the future.
The report covers observations of the Advisory Committee based on its discussions over the last fiscal year, in areas such as: attracting, retaining and developing talent; better measuring performance and results; and continuing to demonstrate agility and responsiveness in the face of ever-increasing complexity.
The committee also reiterated its endorsement of the Blueprint 2020 vision for modernizing the Public Service, and noted that renewal begins with the recognition that the Public Service plays an essential role in sustaining a prosperous country.
