OTTAWA—His Excellency the Right Honourable David Johnston, Governor General of Canada, is pleased to announce the State visit to Canada of His Excellency Benigno S. Aquino III, President of the Republic of the Philippines. The visit will take place in early May.
“Sharon and I are looking forward to welcoming President Aquino to Rideau Hall on the occasion of his State visit to Canada,” said the Governor General. “This will be an opportunity for Canada to further build on its strong and long-standing relationship with the Philippines, and to discuss areas of common interest such as building on people-to-people ties, strengthening our trade and investment relationship, and expanding co-operation on development and regional security.”
The detailed schedule of the events taking place at Rideau Hall will be issued at a later date.
