OTTAWA—Her Excellency Sharon Johnston will receive the inaugural Because Mothers Matter Award from Home Instruction for Parents of Preschool Youngsters (HIPPY), during a ceremony at the residence of the Australian High Commissioner, at 407 Wilbrod Street, Ottawa, on Wednesday, May 6, 2015, at 5 p.m.
During the event, HIPPY Mother Nagham Fawaz will also receive a Because Mothers Matter award and special guest Dr. Ruth Westheimer, author and media commentator, will deliver remarks on mothers making a difference.
About the HIPPY Because Mothers Matter Award
Each year two Because Mothers Matter Awards will be given – one to a prominent Canadian mother who has achieved noteworthy success while giving back to her community and the second to a HIPPY mother who has succeeded using the HIPPY program to help her children and herself.
