The National Research Council of Canada continues to foster relationships with the leaders of tomorrow by hosting over 150 members of the Global Young Academy (GYA) today for a Young Makers Science Fair Hack. Canada is the destination of choice for the GYA's Annual General Meeting and this Fair is one of many activities to be hosted by the Academy during its gathering in the region.
The Government of Canada's commitment to Science, Technology, and Innovation starts by supporting young Canadian innovators and giving them a platform to build and share their skills. Bringing together an impressive group of elementary, high school, and university students, the Fair showcases Canada's most creative and forward-thinking do-it-yourself science projects, from the 3D-printing of prosthetics to bio-hacking and bio-art. Young Canadian scientists have the opportunity to showcase their projects to GYA members from around the globe.
The event sets the stage for important international connections, where new opportunities are identified, and where a host of representatives from industry, academia, national, and international governments, including the Governor General of Canada, are supporting the next generation of global innovators.
