The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) announced today a significant seizure of over 12 kg of suspected cocaine at the Toronto Pearson International Airport (TPIA).
On May 21, 2015, CBSA officers monitoring the offload of luggage from an aircraft originating from the Dominican Republic noticed a black suitcase with a seemingly recycled bag tag. After opening the luggage and examining the contents, officers found ten brick shaped bundles wrapped in clothing. All the bundles were subsequently tested and found to contain suspected cocaine.
The suspected cocaine was turned over to Peel Regional Police.
