On May 3, 2015, Ronald Victor Varcoe, an inmate at Beaver Creek Institution died at a local hospital in Bracebridge, Ontario.
At the time of his death, Mr. Varcoe, 71 years old, had been serving an indeterminate sentence since April 24, 1991, for first degree murder.
The inmate’s next of kin have been notified of his death.
As in all cases involving the death of an inmate, the police and the coroner have been notified, and the Correctional Service of Canada will review the circumstances of the incident.
