On May 12, 2015, Colin Weaver, an inmate at Millhaven Institution was found in need of medical attention in his cell.
Emergency Services were called and the offender was taken to an outside Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 1:53 a.m., on May 13, 2015.
At the time of his death, Mr. Weaver, 39 years-old, had been serving a sentence of 20 years, since March 1, 2007, for Manslaughter, Robbery, Disguise with Intent and Possession of Weapon Contrary to Probation Order.
The inmate’s next of kin have been notified of his death.
As in all cases involving the death of an inmate, the police and the coroner have been notified, and Correctional Service Canada will review the circumstances of the incident.
