OTTAWA — Media are invited to attend the unveiling of a commemorative plaque by Defence Minister Jason Kenney on May 25 at the Valour Building. The building was renamed during the National Day of Honour commemoration in May 2014, following the end of Canada’s mission in Afghanistan.
The plaque will recognize the 20 military personnel who served with the Canadian Armed Forces in Afghanistan, and were awarded the Star of Military Valour for self-sacrifice or devotion to duty in the presence of the enemy.
When: May 25, 2015, 11:00 a.m..
Where: The Valour Building, 151 Sparks Street
What: The unveiling of a plaque to name the Valour Building and recognize the 20 recipients of the Star of Military Valour, the highest decoration awarded during the mission in Afghanistan.

Some recipients of the Star of Military Valour will be in attendance and available for interviews upon request. Media are asked to arrive no later than 10:30 a.m.
