Centre-du-Québec Municipality of Chesterville receives funding from Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions for community hall expansion and renovation

May 6, 2015 – Chesterville, Quebec - Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions (CED)

The Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Infrastructure, Communities and Intergovernmental Affairs and Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, announces that the Municipality of Chesterville has been granted financial assistance for the improvement and expansion of an existing community hall.

This support has been awarded in the form of a $17,188 non-repayable contribution through the Local Investment Initiative (LII), a component of CED’s Quebec Economic Development Program.

Quick facts

The Municipality of Chesterville will use the funding to renovate the interior of the community hall, which will include demolishing and rebuilding indoor walls, repairing the floor and ceiling, carrying out electrical work and painting.
The LII, a temporary initiative specific to CED, helps promote economic development capacity-building for the long-term benefit of Quebec communities.
This initiative stimulates local investment while ensuring citizens have access to safer and more functional community halls that are better suited to their needs.
