Government of Canada supports expansion of Studios Framestore Inc. in Montréal

With this first expansion since setting up its Montréal studio, Framestore will acquire computer equipment and tools to pursue and develop its animation and special effects images

May 25, 2015 – Montréal, Quebec - Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions (CED)

The Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Infrastructure, Communities and Intergovernmental Affairs and Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, announces that Studios Framestore Inc. has been granted financial assistance to expand the enterprise in Montréal.

This support is being awarded in the form of a $1,000,000 repayable contribution through CED’s Quebec Economic Development Program.

Quick facts

This investment will enable the studio to meet its technology infrastructure needs and thereby acquire computer servers, equipment and tools related to cinematography, animation and visual effects.
A global leader in special effects for films, television and commercial markets, Framestore is internationally renowned for the quality of its images―a reputation built on the company’s talent and innovative technology.
As well as ensuring the firm’s growth, this project will help consolidate the Montréal studio as the largest Framestore studio in North America and is expected to result in the creation of multiple jobs.
