MP Jay Aspin (Nipissing—Timiskaming), on behalf of the Honourable Greg Rickford, Canada's Minister of Natural Resources and Minister for the Federal Economic Development Initiative for Northern Ontario (FedNor), announced today an investment in support of jobs, growth and prosperity in the Nipissing–Timiskaming region.
FedNor funding of $26,000 will enable MetricAid Inc. to develop a market-ready version of its Cloud-Based Emergency Department Information System. Specifically, the investment will be used to hire a youth intern for a one-year period. Working as part of a software development team, the intern's responsibilities will focus on preparing the company's prototype software for commercialization.
Since its inception, FedNor has helped provide more than 1525 young post-secondary graduates with their crucial first job, and assisted countless businesses and organizations, such as MetricAid, in growing the economy by helping them access a qualified and talented workforce.
