The Beaverbrook Art Gallery is moving ahead with phase two of a three phase major expansion plan, thanks in part to an investment from the Government of Canada. The Honourable Keith Ashfield, Member of Parliament for Fredericton, on behalf of the Honourable Rob Moore, Regional Minister for New Brunswick and Minister of State (Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency), announced federal government funding of $1.5 million for the provincial gallery in support of the project.
The 14,000 square foot phase two expansion includes the addition of a multipurpose theatre, new gallery and studio spaces, exterior terrace and permanent collection storage upgrades.
This project builds on the Beaverbrook Art Gallery’s existing assets such as its world-class art collection. Benefits of the expansion include greater rental opportunities, better ability to accommodate large travelling exhibits, improved accessibility and increased revenue.
