Minister Goodyear Launches the Canada 150 Community Infrastructure Program in Southern Ontario
May 15, 2015 – Waterloo, Ontario – Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario)
FedDev Ontario Minister Gary Goodyear today announced the launch of the new Canada 150 Community Infrastructure Program in southern Ontario. Minister Goodyear was accompanied by Kitchener-Waterloo area Members of Parliament Peter Braid, Harold Albrecht and Stephen Woodworth.
Earlier today, Prime Minister Stephen Harper announced the $150-million national program dedicated to celebrating Canada's history, heritage, values and future by reinvesting in community infrastructure across the country. The program will create a lasting legacy as Canada prepares to celebrate the 150th anniversary of Confederation in 2017.
As of today, FedDev Ontario is accepting applications for funding to rehabilitate, renovate and expand existing public infrastructure for communities in southern Ontario. Local and Aboriginal governments, public sector bodies delivering municipal-type infrastructure services, and incorporated not-for-profit organizations are invited to apply for funding for projects that will be supported on a cost-shared basis. For additional program and application information, please refer to the backgrounder.
