Cathy McLeod, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Health and for Western Economic Diversification and Member of Parliament for Kamloops—Thompson—Cariboo, on behalf of the Honourable Lisa Raitt, Minister of Transport, today announced that the Government of Canada is investing $4,401,747 to enhance safety at the Kamloops Airport.
Funding will pay for the rehabilitation of pavement on Runway 08-26 and the replacement of two runway sweepers. This work and equipment will allow for timely and effective removal of snow, slush and ice from runways and taxiways, ensuring continued safe operations for flight crews, passengers, employees, and aerial firefighting services.
Funding is provided through Transport Canada’s Airports Capital Assistance Program (ACAP).
