May 27, 2015 – Batoche National Historic Site, Saskatchewan – Parks Canada
Brad Trost, Member of Parliament for Saskatoon–Humbolt, on behalf of the Honourable Leona Aglukkaq, Minister of the Environment and Minister responsible for Parks Canada, today highlighted visitor experiences during the 2015 season at Batoche National Historic Site.
An exciting new feature at the site is the Batoche shuttle. This 48-passenger vehicle will make it easier for visitors to explore the grounds, and provide easier access to some of the more remote parts of the site such as the East Village.
Batoche’s Kidfest returns this year, providing a family-fun filled day of activities including bouncy castles, archery, face painting, airbrush tattoos, a petting zoo and much more. Other activities include exploring the site’s hiking trails or discovering the secrets of Batoche and earning a souvenir Batoche Geocoin in a brand new geocaching program for all ages.
Batoche National Historic Site is open Monday to Friday from May 18 until June 30. During the summer, the site is open seven days a week until Labour Day, September 7. Beginning on September 8, it is once again open Monday to Friday right up to season closing on October 9.
