The Prime Minister met today with the President of the Iraqi Kurdistan Region, Masoud Barzani.
They discussed the Canadian advise and assist mission, under which the Canadian Armed Forces are helping build the capacity of Iraqi security forces to confront ISIS.
President Barzani thanked the Prime Minister for this invaluable contribution.
He also expressed his condolences on the death of Sgt. Andrew Doiron.
President Barzani and Prime Minister Harper also discussed the substantial humanitarian and development support Canada is providing in Iraq and the region.
