Government of Canada supports the Orford Festival
May 12, 2015 – Montréal – Department of Canadian Heritage
The Honourable Shelly Glover, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages, today announced $65,000 in funding for the 2015 Orford Festival. This event will take place from June 26 to August 15 at the Orford Arts Centre and in various municipalities in the Eastern Townships.
This funding, provided by the Government of Canada through the Canada Arts Presentation Fund, will help the Orford Festival offer music lovers 60 concerts by established and emerging musicians in an idyllic country setting.
“Our Government is pleased to support the Orford Festival, an international music event that has consistently supported emerging artists from Canada and beyond.”
—The Honourable Shelly Glover, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages
“The Orford Arts Centre is pleased to count Canadian Heritage among its long-term partners. This financial support will help us fulfill our artistic mission. There is no greater symbol of youth, of ties between nations, and of joy and emotion than the most profound form of human communication: the universal language of music!”
