Prime Minister Stephen Harper today issued the following statement congratulating Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge on the birth of their second child, Her Royal Highness The Princess of Cambridge:
“All Canadians were delighted today to learn of the birth of Her Royal Highness The Princess of Cambridge, the second child of Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and the younger sister to His Royal Highness Prince George.
“Canada’s Royal Family holds a very special place in our country and so the news of this new addition to our Royal Family is particularly exciting. We very much look forward to developing a close and personal relationship with The Princess of Cambridge as she grows, in keeping with the remarkable affection our country has had for decades for The Queen and the Royal Family.
“On behalf of all Canadians, Laureen and I would like to offer our heartfelt congratulations and very best wishes to the happy family on the arrival of their second child.”
