Prime Minister Stephen Harper today issued the following statement on the results of the provincial election in Alberta:
“On behalf of the Government of Canada, I would like to convey my sincerest congratulations to Ms. Rachel Notley and the Alberta New Democratic Party on their election victory.
“I look forward to working with future Premier Notley on issues of importance for Albertans and all Canadians, including creating jobs, economic growth and long-term prosperity across the province and country.
“I would also like to thank outgoing Premier Jim Prentice for his public service and contribution to Alberta and Canada, and wish him the best in his future endeavours.”
