Summer festival to be celebrated in Saint John

Government of Canada provides funding in support of Fundy Fringe Festival

May 13, 2015 – Saint John, New Brunswick – Department of Canadian Heritage

Rodney Weston, Member of Parliament (Saint John), on behalf of the Honourable Shelly Glover, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages, today announced that the Saint John Theatre Company is getting a financial boost of $6,400.

The funding, provided under the Building Communities Through Arts and Heritage program, will help support the Fundy Fringe Festival. The Festival will present activities including several theatrical performances and music shows in different genres. These will take place at multiple venues throughout Saint John from August 18 to 23, 2015. More than 30 local artists will perform during the six days of festivities.

The Saint John Theatre Company is a professional performing arts organization that presents English-language theatre in southern New Brunswick. It also offers training, development and exposure to theatre practitioners.
The Fundy Fringe Festival is part of a growing community of fringe festivals throughout North America that are dedicated to supporting independent performers and artists.
The Building Communities Through Arts and Heritage program provides Canadians with more opportunities to take part in activities that present local arts and culture and celebrate local history and heritage.
