June 24, 2015 — Madrid, Spain — The Government of Canada successfully launched Express Entry, a modern immigration application management system, this past January. Express Entry gives prospective skilled immigrants from Spain a new and fast alternative for coming to Canada. This new system is designed to get people with the skills and experience that Canada’s labour market and economy need, and ensures that immigrants arrive here faster than ever before.

Under Express Entry, skilled workers who want to apply to Canada’s key economic immigration programs are able to create an online profile and express their interest in coming to Canada permanently. Those who meet the minimum criteria are accepted into the pool and ranked according to various factors, including language proficiency, education and work experience. The top candidates in the pool are then invited to apply, and complete applications are processed in six months or less.
