June 22, 2015 - Ottawa, Ontario - Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development Canada
The Honourable Rob Nicholson, P.C., Q.C., M.P. for Niagara Falls, Minister of Foreign Affairs, today issued the following statement:
“Canada condemns in the strongest terms the terrorist attack that took place outside of the Afghan parliament in Kabul today.
“On behalf of all Canadians, I extend my deepest condolences to the families and friends of the woman and child who were killed in this horrible act, and I wish a quick recovery to the injured.
“Attacks like these demonstrate the Taliban’s total disregard for the Afghan people and those who are working to establish a democratic future for the country.
“Canada continues to stand by the Government of Afghanistan as it strengthens its efforts to combat terrorism in all its forms in order to bring peace and prosperity to all Afghans.”
