The Honourable Rob Nicholson, P.C., Q.C., M.P. for Niagara Falls, Minister of Foreign Affairs, today issued the following statement:
“After years of instability and social turmoil, Canada welcomes the signing of the peace agreement in Bamako, Mali, on June 20, 2015.
“Canada calls on all parties to continue their dialogue to promote peace and security in northern Mali. Stability and progress throughout the region will not be possible until all parties demonstrate their commitment to a peaceful resolution of the conflict.
“Canada will continue to support the people of Mali in their pursuit of a sustainable and lasting peace.”
