VALCARTIER, QUEBEC – Media are invited to attend the deployment of an initial group of Canadian Armed Forces members from Valcartier who are leaving for Poland this Sunday to take part in the 4th rotation of Operation REASSURANCE.
The Honourable Steven Blaney, Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness, will be in attendance to wish them success on their mission.
When: Sunday June 28, between 7:45 a.m. and 8:15 a.m. (welcoming of media)
Where: Valcartier Garrison, main gatehouse
What: Gathering of soldiers and their loved ones before the departure by bus to Jean-Lesage International Airport
Media representatives will be greeted at the main gatehouse of Valcartier Garrison, located on De la Bravoure Road, starting at 7:45 a.m. From there, journalists will be accompanied to the building where the event will take place from 8:15 a.m. to 9:45 a.m.
Due to recent changes in the security restrictions governing the identification of military personnel, it will be possible at that time to take photos and identify the soldiers leaving on the mission. Journalists unable to attend the event can obtain photos by going to www.forcesimages.ca
