PETAWAWA, ONTARIO — Media are invited to attend the return of approximately 100 soldiers from a deployment on Operation REASSURANCE in Eastern and Central Europe on June 30 in Petawawa, Ontario.
Cheryl Gallant, Member of Parliament for Renfrew-Nipissing-Pembroke, will be present as the soldiers arrive.
The returning Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) members are from 3rd Battalion, The Royal Canadian Regiment (3 RCR), 2 Canadian Mechanized Brigade Group, based at Garrison Petawawa. Operation REASSURANCE refers to the CAF`s military activities in support of NATO assurance measures through the provision of military capabilities for training, exercises, demonstrations and assigned NATO tasks.
Media must pre-register. The rendezvous point will be at the front gate at 5:30 p.m. and media will be escorted onto the Garrison. Media will be permitted to photograph and identify personnel returning from this deployment.
