OTTAWA-GATINEAU, June 3, 2015 — Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission
Yesterday, the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC), together with the Canadian Communication Association (CCA), launched the CRTC Prize for Excellence in Policy Research at the CCA annual meeting in Ottawa.
In joining together with the CCA to create this prize, the CRTC is continuing to build bridges with the university community. It is a way to enrich the discussion and encourage a new generation of researchers with the potential to contribute to Canadian information and communications policy. Collaboration among decision-makers and researchers is essential to support research and find solutions to current issues.
Graduate-level students who are members of the CCA will have until January 15, 2016 to submit an article on a topic in the Canadian information and communication policy field. A selection committee formed by the CCA will decide the winners, who will receive, among other things, a cash prize, the amount of which will vary based on the category: Master’s ($1,500), Doctorate ($2,500), and Post-doctorate ($1,000).
The first recipients will be announced at the 2016 CCA annual meeting.
