On June 11, 2015, the Canada Border Services Agency was notified by the Peterborough Regional Health Centre that an adult male detainee who was receiving care, passed away in hospital.
Family of the deceased has been notified. The man’s identity will not be released at this time.
As in all cases of in-custody deaths, the appropriate authorities have been notified. The CBSA will also be reviewing the circumstances of the incident.
The CBSA is not in a position to release further information while the investigation is ongoing.
