New arrangement will help Canadian small and medium-sized enterprises expand into Asia
June 8, 2015 - Toronto, Ontario
International Trade Minister Ed Fast and Margaret Fong, Executive Director of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), today, on the margins of Think Asia, Think Hong Kong, signed an arrangement to promote increased commercial cooperation activities between Canada and Hong Kong.
The arrangement will help Canadian companies, especially small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), use Hong Kong’s strategic regional position as a commercial, financial, logistical, business services and trade show hub to make business connections and increase their sales to Hong Kong, mainland China and other Asia Pacific markets.
“We are pleased to conclude this arrangement with Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development Canada. Based on an already robust trade relationship between Canada and Hong Kong, this arrangement further strengthens our ties in promoting business opportunities in financial services, logistics, food, technology and intellectual property.”
