For Immediate Release
June 19, 2015 – Richmond, B.C. – Public Works and Government Services Canada
The Honourable Kerry-Lynne D. Findlay, P.C., Q.C., MP for Delta—Richmond East and Minister of National Revenue, on behalf of the Honourable Diane Finley, Minister of Public Works and Government Services, is pleased to announce that Public Works and Government Services Canada has awarded a contract, valued at $549,009, to Star Solutions International Inc. This contract is awarded under the Build in Canada Innovation Program (BCIP) for their LTE Band 14 IMPAC System.
Star Solutions International, a Canadian-owned company, develops internet protocol based wireless infrastructure technologies. The company’s innovation, the LTE Band 14 IMPAC System, enables public safety officials to rapidly deploy a complete cellular network during a disaster or in areas where coverage does not exist. If commercial cellular networks are damaged, cellular coverage can be established to enable calls, texts and data within minutes. The IMPAC System is operated by one switch and requires no training. It can be battery operated and transported to any location, no matter how difficult the terrain is.
The BCIP helps Canadian businesses get their cutting-edge goods and services from the lab to the marketplace. Successful sales translate into jobs, and jobs lead to prosperity for hard-working Canadians and their families. This program is just one of the many ways the Government of Canada supports small and medium businesses across Canada.
