June 15, 2015 – Ottawa, Ontario – Parks Canada
The Honourable Leona Aglukkaq, Minister of the Environment and Minister responsible for Parks Canada, today invited Canadians to celebrate Canada’s 148th birthday with a free visit to some of the country’s natural and cultural treasures. On Wednesday, July 1, admission is free at all national parks, national marine conservation areas and Parks Canada-administered national historic sites.
Canada’s national historic sites, national parks and national marine conservation areas are a source of pride for Canadians and an integral part of our identity. These treasured places enable us to experience our rich history and natural heritage in a special way.
The ongoing work of Parks Canada and programs – like the Xplorers program, Learn-to Camp, special events and exciting new activities across the country – are enhancing visitor experience and facilitating personal connections with Parks Canada places.
