The Honourable Greg Rickford, Canada's Minister of Natural Resources and Minister for the Federal Economic Development Initiative for Northern Ontario (FedNor), announced today an investment in support of tourism development and growth in the Kenora region.
A FedNor investment of $120,000 will enable the City of Kenora to replace aging dock infrastructure on the west side of Coney Island which is located five minutes by boat from Kenora's harbourfront and downtown area. Upgrades to the docking facilities on the Island's north side will also be included in this initiative. The improvements are designed to facilitate visitor and resident access to Coney Island's public beach and park area, and increase attendance at the island's music and arts festivals.
