June 5, 2015 — Gravenhurst, Ontario — Industry Canada/FedNor
The Honourable Tony Clement, MP for Parry–Sound Muskoka and President of the Treasury Board, on behalf of the Honourable Greg Rickford, Canada's Minister of Natural Resources and Minister for the Federal Economic Development Initiative for Northern Ontario (FedNor), announced today an investment to support jobs, growth and economic prosperity in the Parry Sound–Muskoka region.
The FedNor investment of $131,500 will support two projects within the Town of Gravenhurst. Of the total, $100,000 will assist the community to implement a marketing and communications plan. Designed to position the community as open for business year-round, the strategy will promote the area as an ideal place to live, work and invest, as well as establish and grow a business. The remaining $31,500 will enable the community to hire a youth intern to support the implementation of recommendations identified in its Economic Development Plan and Downtown Revitalization Strategy.
