June 26, 2015 St. John’s, NL Canada Revenue Agency
The Honourable Kerry-Lynne D. Findlay, P.C., Q.C., M.P., Minister of National Revenue, met with parents and representatives from community associations today to promote the enhanced Universal Child Care Benefit (UCCB) and encourage local families to apply for the benefit if they have not already done so. Parents and guardians can apply anytime and receive the benefit, which is retroactive to January 1, 2015, and will be reflected in monthly payments after July 2015.
With the enhancements to the UCCB, families will receive up to $1,920 per year for each child under 6 and up to $720 per year for each child aged 6 through 17.
If your family is not currently receiving the UCCB, has never received the UCCB, or has never applied for the Canada Child Tax Benefit and you still have children under 18 in your care, visit www.canada.ca/taxsavings to find out how you can apply.
