June 14, 2015– Ottawa, Ontario – Employment and Social Development Canada
Today, the Honourable Dr. K. Kellie Leitch, Minister of Labour and Minister of Status of Women, congratulated Air Canada and UNIFOR on reaching a tentative five-year collective agreement.
This agreement was reached thanks to the hard work of both parties with the support of the Government of Canada’s Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service.
“I would like to congratulate Air Canada and UNIFOR on reaching this landmark tentative collective agreement. As I’ve said many times in the past, the best agreement is always the one the parties reach themselves. Both parties worked hard to resolve this dispute in the best interest of the Canadian economy and all Canadians.”
