The Honourable Rob Nicholson, P.C., Q.C., M.P. for Niagara Falls, Minister of Foreign Affairs, today concluded a successful visit to Jerusalem, where he met with President Reuven Rivlin and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to discuss the Middle East Peace Process and the critical security challenges facing Israel, including Iran, Hamas, the so-called Islamic State of Iraq and Syria and other regional threats.
During his trip, Minister Nicholson also met with Riad Malki, Foreign Affairs Minister of the Palestinian Authority, in Ramallah.
Minister Nicholson also participated in a wreath-laying ceremony at the Yad Vashem Holocaust memorial in honour of the six million Jews who were murdered during the Second World War. He later toured the Old City of Jerusalem, where he visited the Church of the Holy Sepulchre and the Western Wall.
