June 15, 2015 – Ottawa – Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat
“Proudly Serving Canadians” is the theme of this year’s National Public Service Week 2015, running from June 14 to 20.
National Public Service Week, marked each year during the third week in June, is dedicated to federal public servants to recognize their key role in delivering timely and effective programs and services in Canada and around the world.
The federal public service delivers a wide range of programs and services that support the work of government and meet the needs of Canadians in their day-to-day lives. Public servants take pride in providing Canadians with programs and services efficiently, effectively, and in a way that demonstrates their commitment to the values and ethics of the public sector.
Departments and agencies from across the Public Service will be organizing events throughout Canada to recognize accomplishments and celebrate being part of the Public Service of Canada.
"I am pleased to recognize the contributions of the men and women who make up the federal public service. Their professionalism, commitment and dedication to their jobs keep Canada strong, proud and free. Our international reputation for excellence is also due in large part to individuals who have a passion not just for serving Canadians, but also the wider world. Together, we will continue to adapt, modernize and strengthen the services that Canadians can depend on."
