New Commandant at Royal Military College Saint-Jean

Today, Colonel Simon Bernard took command of the Royal Military College Saint-Jean (RMC St-Jean) from Colonel Jennie Carignan during a ceremony presided over by Major-General Éric Tremblay, Commander of Military Personnel Generation.

Colonel Jennie Carignan has been Commandant of the RMC Saint-Jean since 2013. She is posted to the Canadian Forces College in Toronto to complete the National Security Program.
A Change of Chief Warrant Officer Appointment also took place between Chief Warrant Officers Philippe Turbide and Justin Morneau.
Colonel Bernard was Deputy Director Current Operations for the Strategic Joint Staff at the National Defense Headquarters in Ottawa before taking this command.
RMC St-Jean ensures officer cadets a seamless transition from high school to university by providing college-level and first-year university programs in science and social sciences, while offering military training, athletic, and bilingualism programs. RMC St-Jean also offers advanced training courses for non-commissioned members of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF).
The mission of RMC St-Jean is to educate duly selected CAF members in order to instil them with the competencies required to uphold distinction in the profession of arms.
