Prime Minister Stephen Harper met today with German Chancellor Angela Merkel. The leaders met in the context of the G-7 Summit in Germany.
Prime Minister Harper congratulated Chancellor Merkel on hosting a successful Summit that reaffirmed the G-7 as a group committed to shared values of democracy and freedom.
The two leaders discussed the importance of growing the still fragile global economy, including through the timely ratification of the job-creating Canada-European Union Trade Agreement.
The leaders also discussed issues of international security, including the importance of maintaining our collective resolve to hold the Putin regime accountable for Russia’s illegal occupation of Crimea.
