Government of Canada provides funding to Privateer Days Commission
June 8, 2015 – Liverpool, Nova Scotia – Department of Canadian Heritage
Gerald Keddy, Member of Parliament (South Shore–St. Margaret’s), on behalf of the Honourable Shelly Glover, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages, today announced funding of $40,600 for the 30th edition of Privateer Days in Liverpool.
From June 26 to 28, Privateer Days 2015 will present a live encampment, battle re-enactments by the King’s Orange Rangers, Old Burial Ground tours, an artisan workshop, a privateer play, as well as musical and dance performances. The Privateer Days Commission is counting on the participation of 500 volunteers who will plan and organize the three-day festival, a proud celebration of Liverpool’s colourful privateer heritage.
Funding for this edition of Privateer Days is being provided through the Building Communities Through Arts and Heritage program.
