Minister Kerry-Lynne Findlay Announces Celebrate Canada support for four organizations

June 5, 2015 – Delta, British Columbia – Department of Canadian Heritage

The Honourable Kerry-Lynne D. Findlay, Minister of National Revenue and Member of Parliament (Delta– Richmond East) today announced $9,000 in funding for four Canada Day celebrations in Delta, British Columbia.

This support, provided through the Celebrate Canada program, will enable local community organizations to offer residents and visitors opportunities to learn about Canada’s history and heritage and the chance to participate in cultural programming.

Quick Facts

Four organizations across the District Municipality of Delta will receive funding for their 2015 Canada Day Celebrations: the Corporation of Delta, the Delta Museum and Archives, the Kirkland House Foundation and the Tsawwassen Boundary Bay Lions Club.
The Celebrate Canada period includes National Aboriginal Day on June 21, Saint-Jean-Baptiste Day on June 24, Canadian Multiculturalism Day on June 27, and Canada Day on July 1.
In 2014, the Government of Canada provided funding for more than 1,600 projects and events across the country through the Celebrate Canada program.
