Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Re-capitalization	$541K
Bellevue House National Historic Site, the historic home once lived in by Sir John A. Macdonald, and the Parks Canada visitor centre located adjacent to the house, are in need of an updated climate control system to protect this cultural asset for generations to come. This project involves a new HVAC system that will separate the historic house from the visitor centre, improve overall efficiency, meet modern code requirements, and ensure health and safety of visitors.

Site Description:
Bellevue House National Historic Site was once the home of Sir John A. Macdonald, Canada's first prime minister. Restored to the 1840s period and staffed by costumed interpreters, the house and gardens are kept much as they would have been during the time that Macdonald lived there with his wife and infant son. In addition to its association with Macdonald, Bellevue House is also recognized as nationally significant because it is an outstanding example of Italianate architecture in the Picturesque manner. Its Tuscan Villa style, picturesque qualities and high quality craftsmanship are among its defining characteristics.
